February 2014 Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Fremont County R/C Flying Club – Feb 7, 2013

President Ed Vincent called the meeting to order at the Fremont County Airport Annex Building #2 at 7:05 PM. Eight members attended the meeting. Marlowe won the 50/50 drawing of $5.50 and donated his proceeds back to the club.

Minutes - Marlowe pointed out that he had some of the wrong dates in the January minutes. The corrected minutes appear on the club’s web site. The club approved the corrected minutes.

Treasurer’s Report Feb 7, 2014:

Checking & cash balance from Jan meeting = $851.90

Income:
$9.00 50/50 drawing
$200.00 memberships (5 regular)

Total Income = $209.00

Outlays:
$10.00 State registration
$20.00 gate lock
$285.00 moved to savings

Total Outlays = $315.00

Ending balance = $745.90 ($10.28 cash + $735.62 checking)
                           $1185.75 savings

Bobby questioned why such a large amount was held in the checking account. Basically, the club spends $500-700 per year including AMA licensing, equipment and repairs, picnics, charity donations and etc. At the next meeting, the treasure will provide a summary on how much we spent in year 2013.

The Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Old Business:

Aviation Books for Club – Steve Stafford has donated a container to store the books and it is now in the impound building. Marlowe will stock it with the Bill Worthen donated books and provide a sign-in/sign-out sheet for the loan of the books.

JECO Auction – Ed and Ken went to the auction in early Feb. and had a profitable experience.

Funflys – Start times will be at 9:00AM for June, July and August events and 10:00AM for other months. The contest director will be appointed at the meeting the week prior to the funfly.

Field Marshall – Ed Vincent asked who would volunteer for the Field Marshall position. Steve Stafford stepped forward and Ed appointed him for this position. Steve declared that he would start organizing the work on erecting the new sunshades.

New Business:

Frequency Control 72 Mhz – We had a lengthy discussion on the requirement to impound 72 Mhz transmitters. This led to the discussion of who is using what channels on 72. Marlowe will provide a clipboard in the impound building so that we know who uses what channels on 72.

Balloon Festival – Ed reported that Bill Freda requested our support for the balloon festival scheduled for May 24 – 26, 2014. We may have a booth for club information and demonstration and we may provide some park flyer demonstrations. The members at the meeting were favorable to the idea.

Glow Fuel – Bobby and Cloyce reported that they would be selling fuel at $22/gallon. Contact them for your fuel needs.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:04 PM

Respectfully submitted,

Marlowe D. Cassetti, Secretary/Treasurer
