Funflys – The next Funfly is set for Saturday, April 12th at 10:00AM. The event will be a competition to see who can perform the most number of loops in a 30 second time span. Sonny was selected to be the Contest Director for this event.

Balloon Festival – Ed reported he and Marlowe met with the hot air balloon festival committee and they want our support for the balloon festival scheduled for May 24 – 26. We may have a booth for club information and demonstration and we may provide R/C flying demonstrations. Ed flew his trainer from the proposed runway that provided the balloon folks an idea of what we can do within the space limitations.

Frequency Control for 72Mhz Transmitters – We will have a survey of the channels that are actively used in the club. Marlowe will send out a questionnaire asking the members to list the channels they most frequently use. The questionnaire will also be posted in our impound building.

New Business:

Florence Flying Site – Bobby reported that he has been investigating the club’s former flying site south of Florence. It is still owned by the City of Florence and may be available for our use. There was a lot of discussion on a variety of issues. It was decided to pursue this and to hold off on any improvements at the Airport site. Ed will look into this option with the City of Florence.

50/50 Drawing - Steve Stafford won the 50/50 drawing of $5.50 and donated his proceeds back to the club.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 PM and was followed by the annual swap session. A few items changed hands but someone got a real bargain on a J-3 Cub.

Respectfully submitted,

Marlowe D. Cassetti, Secretary/Treasurer
